ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPs
College is expensive and most students rarely have enough financial aid to cover academic tuition. To assist undergraduate students De’Vaughn created a Scholarship fund to support students and help them purchase books, school supplies, etc.
$500 Scholarship to 2 Undergraduate Students
Community Toy Drive
To assist families in underprivledged communities during the Holiday Season , De’Vaughn hosted his first Toy Drive raising 1000+ Toys for kids ages 4-12 years old. De’Vaughn assembled a Community Task force to distribute gifts in various neighborhoods in the DMV area.

DC MENS SHELTER Community Food Drive
De’Vaughn is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity INC, where he is apart of the Social Action Committee. He recently helped organize a Martin Luther King Day, Food Drive at a DC Mens Shelter.
During the 2025 NFL Season the Washington Commanders selected De’Vaughn Mills to created the commemorative T-shirt for the 2025 HBCU NIGHT hosted by the Social Impact/Responsiblity team. Highlighting and celebrating the impact of HBCUSs and those who have attended. With a portion of the funds being donated to college students in the DMV area.
In 2025, De’Vaughn assisted and coordinated a Thanksgiving Food Drive in Brooklyn NY. With the economy and layoffs effecting families worldwide. De’Vaughn utilized his network to quickly find a solution to support families in need.

Thanksgiving Food Drive with “Lets Thrive Baltimore”
Lets Thrive Baltimore is a organization supporting kids that have lost parents, siblings, friends, to gun violence. I had the opportunity to donate Thanksgiving Meals/Supplies to make the Holidays even better for families still grieving.
Public Speaking/ Career Mentorship
It’s imperative that we pay it forward and prepare the next generation for life after you cross the stage. De’Vaughn is constantly speaking to Sports Mgmt classes and providing his insight on how to navigate the industry on panel discussions.
During his tenure with the Charlotte Hornets, De’Vaughn was apart of multiple ERG groups to learn different cultures and become an ally in underserved communities. This specific community initiative was sending care packages to retired vets in the Charlotte area.
